Collaboration Opportunities
OTRADI welcomes the opportunity to collaborate with public- and private-sector entities dedicated to the discovery of therapeutics for infectious diseases. Scientific researchers can partner with OTRADI via two different routes:

OTRADI Collaboration Model |
- Compound Targets: Submit chemical compounds to OTRADI to be included in the Oregon Collection, a library of novel, locally-sourced, proprietary compounds that OTRADI screens for potential drug-like activity. This greatly benefits the researcher because their compound is now included in high-throughput screening experiments at OTRADI that determine whether their compound may be effective as a drug targeting a multitude of different infectious diseases (malaria, viral, bacterial, fungal infections, etc). By partnering with OTRADI, researchers can now take advantage of our world-class equipment and expertise to advance their compounds through the drug discovery process.
- Assay Targets: Submit novel experimental assays to OTRADI, where we will help to optimize and miniaturize these protocols to produce a customized, high-throughput screening assay. OTRADI will then screen the chemical compounds from the Oregon Collection against the new high-throughput version of the researcher's assay to identify unique biological targets or endpoints. By partnering with OTRADI, researchers can now take advantage of our world-class equipment and expertise, as well as gain access to an untapped collection of chemical compounds, to validate and advance their novel experimental assays and/or identify biological targets for drugs.
Commonly asked questions
How do I submit a proposal to OTRADI?
Researchers interested in collaborating with OTRADI are welcome to discuss the opportunity with staff and submit a proposal detailing their respective project. OTRADI's scientific advisory board reviews all potential projects to assess their feasibility and prioritize scheduling of experiments.
How are agreements with OTRADI carried out?
OTRADI has limited resources to perform collaborative services, but any collaborative project would be discussed with OTRADI staff to write proposals for research funding and examine the full potential of the research. For private companies, a service agreement is drawn up that includes a project outline detailing expected deliverables and fees for services. OTRADI then performs screens and provides the data to the company.
