Company
The Oregon Translational Research and Drug Development Institute is a non-profit science-driven signature research institute funded in part with Oregon State Lottery Funds administered by the Oregon Economic and Community Development Department. The institute provides a bridge in therapeutic development between the research scientist and the patient. OTRADI is a key component of the infrastructure, people and equipment required to support collaboration and accelerate the development of therapeutics and technologies arising from infectious disease research.
Mission
The mission of this state-wide consortium is to stimulate discovery in therapeutic, vaccine, and diagnostic development by fostering cross-discipline and inter-institutional collaborations, as well as creating, maintaining and supporting core facilities for screening and developing lead compounds.
Infectious Disease
OTRADI's initial focus is on infectious disease. The institute covers all vital steps in the pre-clinical therapeutic development timeline: chemical screens, preclinical models, drug toxicology assays, libraries of promising compounds, and medicinal chemistry. Adding to the uniqueness of OTRADI is incorporation potential therapeutic discoveries from the four Oregon research universities into the "Oregon Collection" library - a proprietary collection of chemical and biological compounds
