OPERA LX HCA System from PerkinElmer

High-content screening and analysis
- The OPERA LX features include: fully-automated system; truly confocal, three solid-state excitation lasers (405nm, 488nm, 640nm); peltier-cooled, high-sensitivity CCD camera; filter set for three color applications; 10x air, 20x air, 20x water immersion, and 40x water immersion objectives; Acapella software, including cellular assay libraries; open software for user-defined applications; and a scalable high-throughput image analysis system for online image analysis.
- High-content screening instrument capable of producing high-quality, three-color confocal images, using high-speed imaging technology with a point-scan, confocal spinning disc principle and ultra-fast, laser-based auto-focus
- Provides the highest resolution for live-cell applications, as well as high-throughput analysis of fixed cells.
- High-content analysis combines the benefits of traditional microscopy, cell imaging, and flow cytometry, while adding many advantages.
- Images fixed or live cells. Collects data to analyze: cell and nuclei count, cell morphology, intra-cellular localization and translocation, GPCR internalization, cytoskeleton organization, and fluorescence colocalization.
- Kinetic assays to image and analyze the same cells over an extended time course.
- Standardization and quantification, equivalent to and exceeding flow cytometry.
