OTRADI is a new Oregon signature research institute funded in July 2007 by the State of Oregon. The institute is targeting first quarter 2008 to begin screening operations. The institute will provide screening and optimization of new chemical entities and validate targets for disease management. OTRADI will cover all vital steps in the therapeutic development timeline: chemical screens, preclinical models, lead optimization, drug toxicology assays, libraries of promising compounds, and medicinal chemistry. OTRADI will provide high-throughput and high content screening for infectious disease therapeutic development incorporating compound libraries from commercial sources and the proprietary "Oregon collection" of new chemical and biological entities.
