- EndoSound announced a crowdfunding initiative via Wefunder in June, opening an opportunity for our community and supporters to invest directly in our future.
- Crowdfunding is a financing method where individuals or organizations raise small amounts of money from many people, typically via online platforms. It allows access to capital bypassing traditional funding routes and connecting directly with supporters who believe in their ideas.
- The EndoSound Vision System™ (EVS™) directly impacts patient care by accelerating diagnosis for pancreatic and liver diseases, with the potential to significantly impact clinical outcomes. The EVS enables endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) procedures to be performed efficiently in ambulatory surgical centers (ASCs) and community hospitals, offering substantial cost savings and improved accessibility for patients worldwide
- We’re already seeing strong traction—raising almost $300,000 in the last 3-4 weeks, primarily from new community investors, healthcare professionals and even several users of the EVS.

- We received a “notice of intent to fund” our SBIR phase I, but are still awaiting a notice of award!
- We have moved equipment into our space at OBI!
- We have completed initial design work on a second generation prototype of our Transcervical Selective Tubal Delivery System in collaboration with Merge Medical Design Studio, and expect to begin to transfer the technology to our manufacturing partner, and complete bench testing.
- Virogenomics BioDevelopment was awarded the first-year of funding on a five-year Exploratory/Developmental Phased Award Cooperative Agreement (UG3/UH3). The grant award is through NIDA and aims to develop DRhQ as a therapeutic for methamphetamine use disorder. If fully awarded, the grant will fund dose and dosing schedule studies in an animal model, GMP manufacture, IND-enabling toxicology, and Phase I clinical studies. The grant is a collaboration between investigators at VBD, OHSU and LSU.

Pacific University Summer Science Program Student Tour
We were excited to welcome students from Pacific University’s Summer Science Program to OBI for a memorable day of learning and exploration. These bright young minds, representing high schools from around the world, are spending their summer immersed in science by living on campus and working together on hands-on research projects.
During their visit to OBI, they took part in a dynamic roundtable discussion with scientists from our client companies, asking thoughtful questions and gaining insight into real-world careers in bioscience. Their experience continued with guided tours through several of our working labs, where they observed innovative research and cutting-edge technology in action. It was a pleasure to share our space and help ignite curiosity in the next generation of scientists.
New Patent & Trademark Resource Center Now Available in Oregon
Great news for Oregon innovators: Oregon State University Libraries have recently been designated as a Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC), making this valuable resource accessible to all Oregonians. PTRCs offer free access to specialized databases, research tools, and expert guidance to help individuals and startups navigate the patent and trademark process.
Whether you’re exploring the early stages of intellectual property protection or refining a filing strategy, OSU’s PTRC staff can assist with conducting searches, understanding application procedures, and connecting you to additional USPTO resources. This new center is a welcome boost for Oregon’s innovation ecosystem.

Registration Now Open for AOBIO 2025
Applications are now open for Angel Oregon Life & Bioscience (AOBIO), a premier investment-readiness program supporting early-stage life and bioscience startups in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Hosted by Oregon Entrepreneurs Network in collaboration with Oregon Bioscience Association, Oregon Bioscience Incubator/OTRADI, OHSU, and ONAMI, this program offers invaluable education, networking, and the opportunity for equity investment from local angel investors.
In 2025, AOBIO will feature two three-week virtual education series designed to prepare startups at any stage for investment. Sessions will take place online Thursday mornings and will include an in-person pitch practice with feedback from regional experts. Companies with a developed product or service, team, advisory board, and roadmap are encouraged to apply. Final investment selections will be made in December 2025.
