SUMMARY:Zapproved Event: Voices of Equity - The Equity of Bodies & Movement
DESCRIPTION:Movement is important for not only our physical health\, but our mental health too. \nWe’re not talking about the physical activity of exercise (although that does all sorts of great things for you) but the act of moving our bodies. Our bodies are meant to move and the last year we asked them to sit. Sometimes for long hours in front of a screen without giving them a break from that sitting posture. Without doing the regular daily things we do\, which believe it or not all form part in the building of our bodies. Going to the grocery store\, driving to work\, taking work out classes at a space\, visiting friends\, traveling\, etc. Join us for a talk with movement enthusiast and educator\, Allison Jacks as she offers us a new way to think about how we move through our day and through the world. \nRegister here.

How does your definition manifest in your leadership style?\nHow has your leadership style adapted and evolved over your career?\nHave you benefited from a mentor or coach? Have you taken on this role for more junior women in your workplace?\nHow do you manage work/life balance?\nWhat advice would you offer to other women who are looking to lead in their workplaces or start a company?\n  \nPower Pairing\nAn intimate\, online workshop curated for C-Suite\, VP and Director-level executive women from tech companies\, and those who aspire to senior leadership. DESCRIPTION:A hybrid event with live stream and exclusive in-person networking \nJoin us for Pitch. Launch. Grow. Virtual Demo Day. The in-person networking luncheon will take place at The Commons at UCI Research Park located at 5301 California Ave\, Irvine\, CA 92617. \nEvent Schedule\n11:00 AM – Introductions\, Sponsorships \n11:30 AM – Technology Track Pitches \n12:45 PM – Life Science and AST Technology Track Pitches \n2:20 PM – Winners Announced  \nTracks \nTechnology\nIncludes software or hardware in the following sectors: Communications\, Wireless\, Cybersecurity\, EdTech\, Environmental Technologies (e.g. AgTech\, CleanTech\, BlueTech\, EnergyTech)\, Information Technologies (e.g. SaaS platforms)\, Internet of Things (IoT)\, Media\, and AdTech. \nPrize: Cash prize equal to twenty thousand dollars ($20\,000). \nLife Science\nThe life science industry is one that encompasses a wide range of areas. These areas can include companies operating in the fields of drug discovery\, medical devices\, pharmaceuticals\, and therapeutics offering innovative products and services. \nPrize: Priority admission or renewal to University Lab Partners and 1-year ULP lab space (one (1) – 6ft lab bench) valued at $23\,400. \nSpecialty Diagnostics x Showa Denko\nAre you developing an antibiotic susceptibility technology (AST)? The technology should enable an embodiment in which sample preparation is automated and incorporated into the test device. A phenotypic AST is preferred. Genotypic entries will be allowed\, but consideration should be made to identify as high a percentage of resistant bacteria or fungi as possible while optimizing specificity. \nThis is a one-of-a-kind opportunity for relevant companies / academic developers. If selected\, you will be connected to partners at Showa Denko Materials (America)\, who are actively looking to commercialize a rapid antibiotic susceptibility test technology to further develop your diagnostic technology and connect you to key stakeholders. \nPrize: Priority admission or renewal to University Lab Partners and 1-year ULP lab space (one (1) – 6ft lab bench) valued at $25\,800. \nRegister here.
