SUMMARY:PDXWIT Event: January Virtual Happy (Lunch) Hour
DESCRIPTION:It’s a new year\, so let’s try a new thing! Join us for a special edition Virtual Happy (Lunch) Hour hosted by Kiva on January 20th. \nThe theme for this event is “The Importance of Research\,” and we will hear from lightning speakers Laure Cast and Rihana Mungin about their research projects! We will also learn more about our host company Kiva\, including the open positions they have available. \nAnd of course\, we will have our Virtual Job Seekers Lounge and Recruiter Roll Call on the schedule\, so attendees looking for career opportunities can connect in real time with recruiters who are hiring. Note that if you are a job seeker and want to participate in this feature\, we recommend joining PDXWIT slack before the event. If you are hiring and want to participate\, contact sponsorships@pdxwit.org for info. \nFor those of you looking to connect on camera\, we will have face-to-face networking at the end of the event! \nWe will also have ASL interpretation throughout the event. \nHope to see you there! \nAgenda:\n12:00 p.m. – Zoom Webinar Open/Virtual Networking\n12:03 p.m. – Introductions + Announcements\n12:10 p.m. – Lightning Talks + Women in Tech History\n12:20 p.m. – Recruiter Roll Call\n12:40 p.m. – Virtual Job Seekers Section via Slack/Face-to-Face Networking\n1:00 p.m. – Event ends \nOur events are inclusive.
