SUMMARY:TAO Workshop: Power Pairing: Learning from Leaders featuring Michelle Soares
DESCRIPTION:Power Pairing\nAn intimate\, online workshop curated for C-Suite\, VP and Director-level executive women from tech companies\, and those who aspire to senior leadership. We also welcome and encourage executive-level leaders to register women they have mentored or identified as emerging leaders looking to take that next step in their career. \nWHAT TO EXPECT\nThe 2021 Power Pairing series will feature “fireside chat-style” interviews with four women leaders from the Oregon and SW Washington tech community. Featured guests will share their life stories and career journeys\, including strategies that have helped them thrive and lessons they’ve learned along the way. \nEach event will begin with a round of 1:1 speed networking utilizing TAO’s new virtual event platform\, Run the World. Together\, we will explore themes of leadership\, identify and honor the unique qualities that women bring to the industry\, and build lasting relationships with other women in tech.  \nBYO happy hour beverage and join us for a fun\, empowering event!  \nWHAT YOU WILL LEARN\nThroughout the 2021 Power Pairing series\, participants will have the opportunity to consider the changing roles of women in the workplace\, as well as the challenges and opportunities facing women in positions of authority. Participants will learn more about the impact that women leaders can have on their organizations—and the impact that leadership roles can have on the women who hold them. \nFeatured guests will share their perspectives on these issues: \nHow do you define leadership? How does your definition manifest in your leadership style?\nHow has your leadership style needed to change over your career?\nHave you benefitted from a mentor or coach? Have you taken on this role for more junior women in your workplace?\nHow do you manage work/life balance?\nWhat advice would you offer to other women who are looking to lead in their workplaces or start a company? \nWHO SHOULD ATTEND \nC-Suite\, VP\, and Director-level executive women (and their mentee/emerging leader) from technology companies\, start-ups\, and tech-enabled organizations across Oregon and SW Washington.\n \nGuest Speaker: Michelle Soares\nVice President of Information Technology\nPortland Trail Blazers
