- Caravel is joining the Veterinary Health Innovation Engine (Vhive Incubator) at the University of Surrey as a remote member. Caravel is leveraging this new relationship to explore opportunities in livestock and companion animal health for their synthetic biology platform.

This review explores how gut-derived metabolites and postbiotic compounds play a critical role in maintaining redox balance, protecting mitochondrial function, and preventing systemic inflammatory damage. State Lawmakers Visit OBI to Tour Labs and Support Innovation
OBI was proud to host members of the Oregon House Economic Development Committee on Friday, June 13 for a special site visit showcasing the innovation and impact of our community. The visit began with coffee and informal networking, offering committee members an opportunity to connect directly with founders and industry leaders. Guests then toured two of our client company labs: Hemex Health and Keliomics, where they saw firsthand the groundbreaking technologies being developed within our incubator.
A special thank you to Representative Daniel Nguyen, who represents our district and continues to be a dedicated champion of OBI and the bioscience sector. We’re grateful for the strong legislative interest in the work happening at OBI and the vital role we play as a Center of Innovation Excellence.
VitalFlo, an OBI Client Company, Acquired by Doktorconnect to Advance Preventative Respiratory Care
We’re thrilled to share that OBI’s VitalFlo has been acquired by Doktorconnect, marking a significant leap forward in proactive respiratory care. The acquisition integrates VitalFlo’s FDA- and CE-registered spirometry tools, remote monitoring, and clinical decision support platform directly into Doktorconnect’s comprehensive preventative health ecosystem.
With this union, providers can now deliver data-driven care for conditions like asthma and COPD seamlessly alongside cardiovascular, metabolic, endocrine, and musculoskeletal health services.

Registration Now Open for AOBIO 2025
Applications are now open for Angel Oregon Life & Bioscience (AOBIO), a premier investment-readiness program supporting early-stage life and bioscience startups in Oregon and Southwest Washington. Hosted by Oregon Entrepreneurs Network in collaboration with Oregon Bioscience Association, Oregon Bioscience Incubator/OTRADI, OHSU, and ONAMI, this program offers invaluable education, networking, and the opportunity for equity investment from local angel investors.
In 2025, AOBIO will feature two three-week virtual education series designed to prepare startups at any stage for investment. Sessions will take place online Thursday mornings and will include an in-person pitch practice with feedback from regional experts. Companies with a developed product or service, team, advisory board, and roadmap are encouraged to apply. Final investment selections will be made in December 2025.
