- OryGyn’s SBIR phase I was funded on Aug 1!
- ProMedix Inc – Precision Patient Monitoring has been awarded a National Science Foundation, Phase II Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Grant. This award will give our R&D team the resources to automate our patented noninvasive patient monitor; which has already demonstrated efficacy in rapid identification of patient decompensation due to sepsis and hemorrhage.

OBI’s 2nd Annual Startup Spotlight Expo
What an incredible night at the Oregon Bioscience Incubator’s Annual Startup Spotlight Expo, which was a sold-out event. The energy in the room was palpable as founders, investors, industry leaders, and policymakers came together to celebrate Oregon’s thriving bioscience ecosystem and envision the future of innovation in our state.
We were honored to feature an outstanding panel of speakers—Maureen McGee, Caitlin Vargas, Mark Brady, and Tim Layton—who shared their expertise and insights. We are also deeply grateful to the State Representatives, including Dacia Grayber and Hai Pham, who joined us to engage directly with Oregon’s bioscience innovators.

OBI Represents Oregon Bioscience in International Delegation
Oregon State Representative Daniel Nguyen invited the Oregon Bioscience Incubator to join the Oregon Delegation in welcoming Vietnam President Luong Cuong on Sunday, September 21. President Cuong made a brief stop in Seattle on his way to the UN General Assembly in New York, where he signed an $8 billion agreement with Boeing and also met privately with the Oregon delegation.
OBI board member Benjamin Nahir represented our organization at this prestigious event. We are grateful to Ben for representing us and to Rep. Nguyen for including OBI/OTRADI in this special opportunity.
Matching Grant Applications Open for Recipients of Federal SBIR and STTR Program Awards
Business Oregon, through the Oregon Innovation Council, has opened applications for SBIR/STTR Matching Grants for Oregon companies that received a federal SBIR or STTR award on or after January 1, 2024. America’s Seed Fund supports science and technology innovation with non-dilutive capital, and this state matching program helps accelerate commercialization while preserving ownership. Designed to leverage federal investment and keep growth in Oregon, the program fills gaps in federal funding, helps companies reach the market, and can strengthen future fundraising. In the previous round, Business Oregon awarded more than $1.5 million to 20 Oregon companies, leveraging nearly $20 million in federal awards.
