The TAO Pride Community aims to provide professional development and connection opportunities for LGBTQIA+ individuals and allies across Oregon’s technology and tech adjacent sector. This will be done by bringing members of the community together via quarterly in-person or virtual events. We will offer networking, mentorship, and professional development opportunities focused on helping members of our community navigate the challenges unique to their experiences. While this group will focus on needs for the LGBTQIA+ community within Oregon tech, allies are welcome to attend specific events and participate in this inclusive and empowering group of peers.
Are you looking to connect with other LGBTQIA+ folks in Portland Metro’s technology ecosystem? Are you an ally who wants to support a more inclusive innovation economy and technology sector throughout Oregon? Are you ready to mix and mingle in person – vaxxed and boosted of course – to plan how to celebrate Pride Month in June for the first time IN PERSON SINCE 2019?!?!?
If you answered yes to ANY of the questions above, the first Technology of Oregon (TAO) Pride Community event of 2022 is for YOU! We are going to step out from behind the cameras, leave the Zoom rooms and raise a glass in person. There will be no formal programming outside of networking and a group brainstorming session to determine how to best engage and support the community during Pride Month with ideas that include but are not limited to the following:
Please join the TAO Pride Community, First Tech Federal Credit Union and Extensis on Tuesday, April 14, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 PM for this in person event where we will network, build community and gather ideas from members on how TAO’s Pride Community should represent the LGBTQIA+ technology ecosystem during June. As per usual, we will be monitoring the health situation and will plan on shifting this event online if conditions necessitate that move.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Leave the first TAO Pride Community event of 2022 with new connections and reconnect after too many months isolated and working remotely. Come with your best intentions and ideas to truly build this community and create that feeling of inclusion.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND:
Anyone in technology who identifies as LGBTQIIA+ and allies in the industry.
