By now, many individuals are familiar with working from home, and the workforce is preparing for continued remote work well beyond COVID-19. How vulnerable are companies and individuals to privacy or security breaches as employees continue to work from home? This session will provide guidance on identifying risks, approaching data security with proactive measures, and understanding privacy laws that may apply to you and your business. By the end of the program, attendees will better understand what they can do to protect themselves from risk, and recognize when to seek help or additional resources.

Speakers:

David Rice is a partner at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn with over twenty years of experience providing strategic advice to clients on data privacy and security, data breaches, technology transactions, and cloud services and infrastructure. A significant part of David’s practice includes providing compliance advice regarding the California Consumer Privacy Act and General Data Protection Regulation as well as other privacy laws, data security audits, handling numerous data incidents, conducting employee cybersecurity training, and managing vendor contracting involving data security.  David is a certified information privacy professional (CIPP-US).

Lelia Javanshir is an attorney at Miller Nash Graham & Dunn and a certified information privacy professional (CIPP-US). She assists with matters involving privacy, data security, intellectual property, vendor contracting, and federal and state regulatory compliance. Leila focuses her practice on providing privacy compliance advice and drafting consumer-facing privacy policies and terms that comply with applicable privacy and data protection frameworks.
