PDXWIT & the Portland Chapter of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) are excited to present Remaining Human in the time of Big Data, Big Tech and AI.

Join us as we dive into issues related to healthcare laws governing tech and AI. Hear from officials and privacy professionals–the digital ethicists on the front lines–who are working to keep humans in the loop.

Our speakers will include:

Kate Lipinski (our emcee), Privacy Program Manager, HP (privacy professional, digital strategist, leadership facilitator)
Kristen Hilton, Senior Assistant Attorney General for the State of Oregon with a focus in Consumer Protection
Emmi Bane, Senior Privacy Program Manager, HP (privacy professional and healthcare ethicist)

Q: Who is welcome at PDXWIT events?

A: All people who support PDXWIT’s mission are welcome to our events regardless of gender identity, gender expression or sexual orientation.

 

Q: What is the in-person event capacity?

A: 110

 

Q: Will there be gender-neutral restrooms?

A: Yes

 

Q: Is the space ADA accessible?

A: Yes. ADA parking is available with a ramp up the curb. There are no steps to the front door and an elevator is available to take to the second floor.

 

Q: Will there be food and drink at this event?

A: Yes.

 

Q: What is the parking situation?

A: Parking is free in the building’s parking lot.

 

Q: Is there any special information that might help me find the entrance?

A: Enter the double-glass doors at the front of the building and go through the courtyard. A volunteer will be available to direct you to the second floor.

 

Q: Is there secured bike parking?

A: There is a bike rack available at the front entrance.

 

Q: Should I consider using public transportation?

A: The closest bus top is at the corner of SW Macadam and SW Hamilton. It’s a 3-minute walk to the building. To map your trip go to the Tri-Met Trip Planner.

 

Q: Can I bring my dog?

A: Sadly, no.
