April is Startup Month at TAO! Join us on April 15th at 11:00 AM as we continue to celebrate the local startup ecosystem with a panel of founders sharing their personal experiences of fundraising: Robert Buchanan of ADHERE GEAR, Alisia Ford of Glory Skincare, and Sam Ajayi and Stephen Ajayi of YearOne.

WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
During this discussion, moderated by Himalaya Rao, Managing Director of the Black Founders Matter Fund, you’ll hear from the different startup founders about their methods of raising capital, successes and lessons learned, and where their businesses are headed next. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions during a live Q&A at the end of the event.

WHO SHOULD JOIN
Anyone interested in gaining insight into various funding methods for entrepreneurs, learning about innovative, local start-ups and expanding your knowledge on equitable investing strategies.

ABOUT BLACK FOUNDERS MATTER
Marceau Michel and Himalaya Rao started this fund after working in venture capital and seeing capital access disparities across communities of color. Marceau Michel was drawn to creating a fund after experiencing first-hand the difficulties of fundraising in a biased investment world. Himalaya Rao previously worked with seven different venture funds to source and screen investment opportunities. It was there that she realized even when there is a willingness to diversify the portfolio, there are significant barriers to achieving that outcome.
