Women have always played an important role in the technology industry, unearthing new discoveries and developing unique approaches to solving the world’s challenges through innovation. However, there is still a long way to go before the playing field is truly level, and women are hired and promoted based on their skills and the exceptional contributions they make to the industry.
Vital to technological advancement, women bring unique perspectives, backgrounds, and knowledge to the table. However, women are currently outnumbered by men 3:1 in the tech industry and 5:1 in engineering.
Technology Association of Oregon (TAO) and partner UK Trade and Investment invite you to a conversation with regional female leaders hosted by Tammy Sandhu, British Deputy Consul General, about what is needed to support female, non-binary and other historically excluded individuals in technology roles (particularly in leadership).
This all-female panel brings their passion for lifting up women to more senior roles, workplace equality for intersectional diversity (including sexuality and race in addition to gender), and supportive workplace culture. They will discuss how to have the confidence to confront inequality in pay, and how to be an advocate for building a diverse and inclusive workforce in the tech sector.
